Studio origins

The story of LX20: from the earliest DLT and digital-asset deals to building a boutique firm in regulated markets.

The Origins of LX20

LX20 was born of a simple conviction: that certain fields — digital assets, banking and financial regulation, corporate transactions and commercial law — deserve a firm built around them, rather than occasional coverage.

The Founding

I founded LX20 in 2020 to give shape to that idea. I had worked in international firms and in banking and financial-markets boutiques, and I saw a technical space — where traditional finance meets digital infrastructure — too often handled by non-specialised structures. My own training had been built there: a PhD at Aberdeen on the legal aspects of the tokenisation of financial instruments, admission to the Milan Bar and the New York Bar, and the habit of working in Italian and English on regulated, boundary questions. LX20 is where I put all of this at our clients' service, with method and without approximation.

Our Values

In these fields, vertical expertise and an interdisciplinary approach matter more than scale. We prefer to do a few things well: technical precision, independent judgement, discretion and a direct relationship with those we advise. We do not chase numbers; we look for substance.

The Vision

The convergence of traditional finance, digital infrastructure and new ways of doing business will keep reshaping the applicable law. We intend to remain on that frontier, where the rules are still taking form — working alongside banks, asset managers, supervised intermediaries, private equity sponsors, venture capital funds and companies in the decisions that call for both legal rigour and an understanding of technology. We grow selectively, choosing professionals with a vertical, technical profile.
